Worship - Celebrating God's Presence

The Camrose Church of God offers two weekend worship services. Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

The Sunday services are identical in content. They follow a "blended" worship style with some traditional and some contemporary parts. The music includes classic hymns and contemporary worship songs and choruses tastefully blended together.

Holy communion is served the first weekend of every month in all services.

Between the two Sunday services - from 10:15am to 11:15am - there are Sunday School classes for all age groups. We're really excited about our Sunday School program. We offer Adult Elective classes along with classes for youth, children, and babies! There is no Sunday School running June through August.

Why is it important to go to church?

A common idea is, "I don't need to go to church to be a Christian." This is often a result of a bad experience in the past with church, or a person's family having differing beliefs which make it difficult to choose a church everyone can agree upon. Some folks live in such high-pressure lives that the weekend is the only time they feel they can rest. Some feel uneasy in a crowd where they don't know anyone, or they don't know if they should sit, stand, or kneel, or they don't know the music or don't like the worship style. Is it worth trying to overcome these obstacles? We think so.

Every church is less than perfect because every church is made up of people who are imperfect. However, something wonderful happens when people gather to worship God sincerely. In a phrase, "God happens" in a way that isn't possible when people remain isolated or in private settings. It's something that God blesses - people gathered in joyful celebration of who God is. In a church worship setting, when one opens his or her spiritual eyes, God can be seen and experienced in very meaningful and unique ways.
