Connecting in Dynamic Small Groups

Looking for a way to get to know like-minded people, develop Christ-centered relationships, have fun, experience community and grow in your faith? The Small Groups Ministry of the Camrose Church of God gives you just such an opportunity. You can look forward to being around people who will laugh and cry with you, and develop relationships of support and accountability.

We have groups for Men, Women, Young Adults, Seniors, Youth, and Children.

The Small Groups Ministry enables us fulfill our mission of Proclaiming Christ through the support and nurture that only a group can give. In your group you can experience friendship, care, support, fellowship and dynamic spiritual growth. These things happen in our groups as we pray for each other, study scripture, share ourselves and care for each other.

Connecting Through Prayer

We are committed to a life of prayer. We believe that God's people do not move forward except on their knees in prayer. Here are some of the ways prayer happens in our church:

Each week we publish a weekly prayer letter to keep people encouraged and informed about prayer (click on Prayer to read the latest prayer letter)
Our small groups pray for each other each time they meet
We welcome visits so we can pray with you
We welcome prayer requests by phone or e-mail
Our seniors meet for prayer every week
We host a monthly congregational prayer gather - an informal time to share what's on our hearts and pray for each other

Connecting Youth

Youth are a vital part of our community at the Camrose Church of God. There are many opportunities for the young person to get involved on a weekly basis. The youth group focuses on students in grades 7-12. We offer a weekend gathering, which incorporates the intimacy of a small group experience together with a larger, activity based event. This normally takes place on Friday evenings at 7:00 and finishes up at 10:00pm. Primarily we gather at our Lighthouse facility, however there are some weekends when our activity takes us elsewhere.

We also have two week-day bible studies which focus in on Jr. and Sr. High separately. The Jr. High group meets at 6:45 p.m. Monday afternoons and goes until 7:30 p.m. The Sr. High group meets at 7:00pm Wednesday evenings and finishes officially at 8:30 p.m. There is no Bible study during the summer months or on holidays.

Among other possibilities for involvement within the larger church, there are also Sunday School classes offered at 10:15am Sunday mornings for the youth. More information can be found regarding this ministry by contacting our church office.

As well, youth can look forward to participating in various interdenominational conferences, concerts, ski trips, camping trips, mission trips, and camps.

Hopefully this has given you an idea about some of the opportunities available to youth at the Camrose Church of God. However, no amount of writing can even begin to introduce one to the youth group here at the Camrose Church of God. The most important part of the youth group is the people involved in it, which I would say are some of the greatest people in and around the Camrose area.
